Drawing from Within

dfw7.jpg

In this live online course, you will have the great opportunity to step into a place of inner peace and calm. Here you can explore your creativity with kindness and gentleness for yourself. We will enjoy together a space which is supportive and encouraging, allowing our ideas of what ‘art’ is supposed to be to drop away. Instead, we will be developing our intuition and our perception of the world around us through guided practices of mindfulness and heart meditation.

These practices are naturally relaxing, helping to calm the mind, focus attention and allow a joyful, playful approach to art and to life. The course will help us all to rediscover a more expansive sense of vision, learning to see the world through fresh eyes.

Each workshop in the series offers the opportunity to try out a mixture of media and experiment with different processes in creating a piece of art. Each session has been planned to build upon the previous one and you will be able to take these practices to enhance your daily life.

For me being creative is a joyful and intuitive act, bringing to life unconscious elements, re-cognising the ordinary, and using these elements as a starting point to create work which is rich in depth.

I see meditation as our natural state … which we can become distracted from. Taking time to remember how it feels to be at peace and to allow ourselves time to rest here, in our hearts, is a beautiful gift.

Vishwam is an experienced meditation facilitator, therapist, Heart Of Living Yoga teacher & teacher trainer. He has been sharing the art of relaxation in various forms for at least 25 years and has been meditating daily for nearly a decade. Singing the Trees

singing the trees 3.jpg

This is an opportunity to deepen your connection with nature and explore your own wild voice. While we are none of us travelling much, it could be the ideal time to tune in to the landscape where we are.

Indigenous wisdom from around the world recognises an innate intelligence in trees, as in all of life. Modern biologists are learning how trees communicate and care for one another, and increasingly even physicists suggest that consciousness is inherent in all matter. Whatever our own sense of non-human beings’ experience may be, it can be very special to take some time to stop, breathe, and connect with our always immobile neighbours - the trees.

Maybe there’s a tree you already know you’d like to sing with? Or maybe you’d like to get to know a tree before we meet? Together, online and each in our different places, we will take this time to tune in with love and kindness and our hearts’ prayers. With gentle support and guidance from your hosts, we will listen to the trees around and find the sounds or song that wants to come through where they grow. Any sounds that come may be silent and inward, gently hummed, a pretty tune may or may not emerge or even some wild sound.. you may prefer to work choose a tree somewhere you will feel relaxed should other humans hear your sounds ;-)

Whatever emerges will be perfect and unique: to you, to the tree you choose and to that place and time.
