Would you like to be part of a heart-centred community, whether for the full five days or just for a dinner or two?
After four years, Community Heart Living returns to the very special Emily Barn in the beautiful village of Carsington, near Matlock. Owned by a woman who is all heart and located and directly between a beautiful old church and an ancient sacred site, simply staying in Emily Barn is a profound healing experience in itself. As in the past, this family-friendly retreat will be very gently held. Some of you may feel to stay in residence the whole week or for part of it. Others may be living on site and travelling to work. Others may simply come for bring & share veggie dinner and evening meditation. It’s up to you, though advanced booking is required for overnight guests.
The retreat is an opportunity to nourish connections and experience the great blessing of heart-centred community. By sharing the experience of heart meditation together, we find ourselves coming into a shared rhythm and awareness which is gently shifting the focus from ‘I’ to ‘we’. It seems in these times, we are needing to come together more than ever - to share, to learn, to heal and to grow.
Vibrant communities, we might say, are the foundation of a healthier world. Together, we can help.
Activities
Throughout our time together we will be sharing beautiful heart meditations, yoga practices including pranayama (breathing) and hatha yoga (physical movements), as well as gentle walks, visits to sacred sites, creative writing workshops and other activities depending on who is there and what is wanted in the space. If you would like to offer a particular workshop as part of this week’s events, please get in touch with the form below.

Your Host
Vishwam Gurudas is an experienced yoga teacher and trainer in the Heart Of Living Yoga tradition. A former resident of Matlock, he now lives in Shetland - the islands north of Scotland - where he teaches both online and in person.
Vishwam has a great love for the earth, for humanity and for life itself. This is why he founded Flowing with Life - to welcome others who also want to help and to heal together.
In addition to yoga, Vishwam is deeply inspired by permaculture, cooperative community, the power of storytelling and of listening from the heart. He is a writer, a creative scholar and a Heart Minister. He’s also known for his warmth, kindness and humour.
