Wirds o da Haert (Words of the Heart)

  • The Kergord Hatchery Bookshop Brig, Weisdale Shetland, Scotland, ZE2 9LW United Kingdom (map)
I joined the taster session for ‘wirds o da heart’ today. I have always enjoyed writing and journaling but Vishwam’s heart meditation and safe space took me to a whole new level of self expression. I am so looking forward to the 6 week block of sessions. Thank you and look forward to joining you again ❤️

Here’s a little taste from one of our previous online courses, recorded live from Lea Gardens, Tresta while house sitting for Rosa & James.

Wirds o da Haert (Words of the Heart) can help you

  • find a natural connection with your creative voice

  • enjoy a gentle and supportive space to connect with others

  • discover the peace of the heart

Whether it comes out as flowing poetry, inspiring fiction, healing autobiography or other expressions of wisdom for life, the heart always seems to know just what to say.

One of the really amazing things we find is that whether you are new to creative writing or a published author, we all experience the same magic of the heart.

Writing in English, Scots, Shaetlan or other languages all welcome.

Heart Meditation is a simple, powerful practice that helps us connect deeply with the Heart of Life Itself. Regular practice increases our deep sense of peace, wellbeing and spontaneous joy. This meditation was recorded live at one of our online writing courses.

Give yourself the unique gift of this special time, just for you

  • to find the natural peace of the heart,

  • to let your voice sing out across the page,

  • to enjoy the craft and the freedom of writing from the heart.

Spaces on the course are limited to just 7 participants to keep these sessions cosy, warm and comfortable with plenty of time to share our work. Book early to make this time for your creative heart to shine.

Each session will include heart meditation guided by Vishwam, space to free write (letting your words flow), and time to share with each other and to listen from the heart.

After class there will be time to browse the wonderful book collection and/or pop next door to the Bonhoga Cafe for lunch.

Finances: The course is just £88 for six live, in person sessions. Payment plans are available. If finances are a concern, please do get in touch. Maybe we can help! And if you are blessed with excess in that regard, why not give a little extra to support those who wouldn’t have the resources otherwise. If the course doesn’t fill up, drop in sessions may be available.

Covid Care: To help us all relaxed, we ask participants to take a Lateral Flow Test before each session. Of course, if you’re feeling unwell in any way or discover that you’ve been in contact with the virus, please stay at home and rest. Thank you for understanding.

Charity support

The Compass Centre, formerly Rape Crisis Shetland, offers essential services to support individual and cultural healing around gender, sexuality and relationships. Fifty percent of all proceeds from the course and 100% of donations from the taster day are going directly to support their work. So far, Flowing with Life has raised £100 to support their essential work.
