We all know Shetland weather can be, errr, challenging. The same goes for what we might call our ‘mental weather.’ We all know what it’s like to feel the storm clouds roll in — for ourselves and for our loved ones.
The good news is, we don’t have to just put up with our emotions like we do the weather outside. Self care practices like yoga and herbal medicine can help us maintain our natural sense of harmony and balance (or return to it if we get thrown off kilter) and rediscover the natural light within us all.
When we feel the sun shining in our heart, it doesn’t matter whether it’s blue skies or blowing a gale!

About Your Hosts
Suze Walker is a medical herbalist with over a decade of experience. Founder of Island Botanicals, Shetland’s premier herb tea company, she also works one to one with individuals to recognise the sources of illness or imbalance and apply the healing power of herbs to address them. Herbalism is the medicine of our grandmothers and grandfathers, a knowledge which has been discouraged in recent years. But the scientific principals of the medicinal constituents of herbs still apply today offering an accessible form of medicine which can be integrated into daily life.
